Bergdorf Goodman, one of the top fashion retail stores in the world, requested that James Harb redesign the sixth floor of the flagship New York store.
The objective was to expand the clarity of movement through the floor, establish unique identities for each shop, and create a 'salon' atmosphere that would prove to be both accessible and convenient for the shopper. The renovation included opening up the existing windows along Fifth Avenue and 57th Street to provide natural light into the shops. This "street of shops" presented a different palette of materials and architectural details to reflect the special qualities of each designer. Some of the designers included are: Armani, Donna Karan, and Max Mara.
The design, exudes a contemporary spirit to correlate with the essence of high-fashion merchandise. At the same time, the project includes classical qualities that the store is so well known for.
