Michael Aram Store and showroom is the first New York flagship. Located in Chelsea, Aram sought for a space reflective of the very nature echoed in his work. James Harb Architects worked to the approach to keep as many of the building's original materials and textures, including brick walls, foot wide plank floors and rough-hewn ceiling timbers. Direct references to nature are found in a band of stones bordering the flooring perimeter and in the gold leaf-topped cashwrap, which stands out like a spring bud in a winter landscape.

Unifying the diverse palate is a black-on-black background that provides a striking contrast to Aram's silver and gold metal works. Outside, the NYC land marked facade was restored to its original 19th century carriage house roots.
